本日、「ことばのはじまり」東京公演の初日でした。ご来場ありがとうございました。
本番前の空き時間に、ジョン・ケージの伝記を読んでいて、面白いのが、若きケージが、生活苦の中、色々な仕事をしていく。その中で、
he served as a recreation director in community centers and hospitals. He enjoyed the work, especially the music-making of the African-American children: "The Negros are astounding, and all I do is give them instruments and they play the most amazing rhythms, complex and marvelous....cross rhythms and accents off the beat, grupettos across the bar, etc."
とあって、ケージのコメントは、片岡祐介や鈴木潤や池田邦太郎が子どもとの音楽ワークショップについて語る言葉とそっくりで、面白い。
