Pou-fou is a band of piano, electric guitar, violin, french horn and percussion, playing music energies of punk as well as aspects of 20th century classical music. Pou-fou has all the elements of head thrashing, high energy noise, feedback and at times even a 4/4 meter. Pou-fou’s atonal melodies and harmonies are reminiscent of those found in contemporary classical music. Says one of their most avid fans, “Every time I come out of a pou-fou gig I find myself metamorphosed into a small metallic insect foaming at the mouth.”

Pou-fouというのは、ピアノ×ギター×ヴァイオリン×ホルン×パーカッションの5人編成のバンド。その音楽の一端にはパンク根性が宿っている。かと思うと、不意に20世紀のクラシック音楽みたいなところをのぞかせたりもするのだ。パワフルなノイズとフィードバックが炸裂し、そこへときたま4分の4 拍子がまぎれ込んで、次から次へと脳天を突き上げてくる。その無調的旋律や和声はいわば現代音楽の生き残りで、どことなく通じるものがあるとでもいえるだろうか。Pou-fouを偏愛するあるキョーレツなファンは次のような感想を残した。「Pou-fouのギグが終わってみると、きまって僕はあぶくぶくの金属のちっぽけな虫になっているんだ。びっくりするよ。」（Bob Barraza）
